Our First Barkday Social: Bringing Oakville's Dog Community Together

On Saturday, Barkday Treats hosted our very first Barkday Social in beautiful downtown Oakville, and it was everything we hoped it would be.

The event was created with one simple goal: to bring together local dog lovers, celebrate the incredible bond we share with our dogs, and create a space where our community could connect. It also happened to be a very special day—Rosie's 4th Barkday.

As the dog who inspired Barkday Treats, Rosie has been at the heart of our journey from day one. Celebrating her birthday surrounded by so many wonderful dogs and their families made the day even more meaningful.

A Morning Filled with Wagging Tails

Guests gathered in Oakville Town Square before setting off on a relaxed walk through downtown and toward Lakeside Park. Some dogs made new friends within minutes, while others were simply happy to explore new sights and smells with their favourite humans.

One of the best parts of the morning was seeing conversations naturally start between people who had never met before. Dogs have a wonderful way of bringing people together, and that's exactly what happened throughout the event.

Whether you were a first-time visitor to Barkday Treats or someone who has supported us since the beginning, it was wonderful to spend time together outside the bakery and celebrate our shared love of dogs.

Celebrating Rosie's 4th Barkday

No Barkday celebration would be complete without birthday treats.

Rosie celebrated her fourth birthday exactly the way every dog deserves—with friends, delicious Barkday Treats, plenty of attention, and lots of photos.

Watching so many dogs enjoy themselves reminded us why we started Barkday Treats in the first place. Every handcrafted cookie, pupcake, Paw'Noli, and celebration cake we create is designed to help families celebrate life's special moments with their dogs.

Birthdays, Gotcha Days, adoption anniversaries, or simply making an ordinary day a little more special—those are the moments that inspire everything we do.

Thank You to Our Amazing Sponsors

Community events like this wouldn't be possible without the support of local businesses that believe in bringing dog lovers together.

A heartfelt thank you to:

  • Bone & Biscuit Oakville North
  • Earthtacular
  • Farm Fetch
  • Happy Paws Photography
  • Pets By Chloe
  • Pure Wipes

Their generous support helped us spoil every guest with thoughtful giveaways, useful products, beautiful photographs, and plenty of smiles throughout the day.

We encourage everyone to support these amazing local businesses whenever you have the opportunity.

Building More Than a Dog Bakery

When Barkday Treats began, our goal wasn't simply to bake gluten-free dog treats and celebration cakes.

We wanted to build a community.

Over the past few years, we've been fortunate to meet thousands of incredible dogs and their families through local retailers, markets, community events, and online.

The Barkday Social felt like the next natural step—creating a place where everyone could meet, share stories, exchange recommendations, and celebrate the dogs who make our lives better every single day.

Judging by the smiles, wagging tails, and conversations we witnessed, we're excited about what the future holds.

Looking Ahead

This may have been our very first Barkday Social, but it certainly won't be our last.

We're already thinking about future walks, seasonal gatherings, birthday celebrations, and opportunities to bring Ontario's dog community together.

If you couldn't join us this time, don't worry. We'd love to see you at a future Barkday Social.

Be sure to follow Barkday Treats on Instagram, Facebook, and subscribe to our email newsletter to hear about upcoming events, new product launches, and where we'll be popping up next across Ontario.

Thank You

Finally, thank you to every single person who attended.

Most of all, thank you for believing in what Barkday Treats is all about: celebrating dogs, creating memories, and bringing people together.
